Mitsubishi is preparing for the premiere of yet another compact crossover, which will take a step below the well-known ASX in the brand’s lineup. The novelty is already being tested on the road, as evidenced by new “spy” photos.
That Mitsubishi wants to strengthen its position in the compact crossover segment became clear when the Japanese presented the conceptual XFC at the Vietnam Motor Show 2022. The pre-production version of the model was not long in coming: less than six months passed since the show car was presented to the public and the camouflaged SUV, which is being tested on the road, already has the lenses of smartphones of random witnesses.
There are no technical details about the new product, which will compete with the Hyundai Creta and other typically urban crossovers. It is clear that Mitsubishi representatives will not reveal them until closer to the premiere. It should take place before the end of this year. In terms of sales, the model is mainly aimed at the countries of Southeast Asia. But then the geography of its presence will expand.
What are the chances that the Russians will be able to evaluate Mitsubishi’s new crossover? Quite big. After all, parallel imports, which have already produced many curious cars, are developing at a rapid pace. So it is possible that the dealers who work according to the “grey” scheme offer us the “killer” Creta. Although it is still too early to talk about the “Crete killer”: whether the new SUV will replace the scarce “Korean”, we will not know until the first receives the price tag.
