As noted, the launch of the Endeavor space capsule and the Falcon 9 launch vehicle is scheduled for Sunday, February 26. But SpaceX and NASA decided to move it to Monday morning, February 27. This will allow experts to fix a few minor issues with Endeavor and Falcon 9.
In particular, the team members would like to further analyze the thermal performance of the panels on the exterior of Endeavour.
In addition, engineers recently identified a potential problem with SpaceX’s Falcon 9, which launched a large group of Starlink internet satellites into orbit. The Starlink mission was successful, but traces of combustion were found in one of the rocket’s engine compartments.
As part of the Crew-6 mission, NASA astronauts Steven Bowen and Woody Hoburg, as well as astronaut Sultan Al-Neyadi and Russian cosmonaut Andriy Fedyaev from the United Arab Emirates, will be sent to the ISS, where they will spend about six months.
As Ukrinform reports, in October SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 launch vehicle as part of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Crew-5 mission, which sent a Dragon capsule with four astronauts to the International Space Station.
