Using an Android phone equipped with a processor Snapdragon 8 Generation 2, Qualcomm was able to generate an image with AI Stable Diffusion in less than 15 seconds. Stable Diffusion 1.5, developed by Qualcomm, is capable of generating an AI image using text commands run on smartphones without the need for network access and in seconds. In the video below, you can see the process of creating a 512 x 512 pixel image in less than 15 seconds using version 1.5 of Stable Diffusion.

In the demo, Qualcomm sends a text message and asks Stable Diffusion to create a “super cute armored warrior cat” look. And the result is what you can see above.

It is important to note that while it is clear that the process was performed on an Android smartphone using a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, no other specifications or model of the device were revealed.

“There are a growing number of Stable Diffusion applications such as image editing, painting, style transfer, super resolution and more that will make a real impact. The ability to fully run a model on a device without the need for an Internet connection opens up endless possibilities.,” the company said in a statement on its blog.
