As part of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Lenovo showcased new concepts such as a laptop and a smartphone with a stretchable display. There is no talk of mass production so far, the company does not name a specific term. When the laptop is folded it looks a lot like a regular laptop but if you activate a small button on the right the screen will turn on.
At the same time, the screen is equipped with motors that stretch it. The result is an almost square display with a 15.3-inch diagonal and 8:9 aspect ratio. The resolution in folded form is 2024 x 1604 pixels, in unfolded form – 2024×2368 pixels.
Another foldable device that Lenovo showed off at MWC is the Motorola RIZR smartphone. As expected, the company has revealed some of its features.
Yes, it offers a 5-inch display with a 15:9 aspect ratio when folded. After double-clicking the side button, the screen expands and the user gets a 6.5-inch screen with a 22:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone also has dual main cameras. Judging by the photo, the quality of the screen is not bad, but without tests it is difficult to say.
