US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burnssaid in a statement at a US Chamber of Commerce event that Washington should pressure Beijing to be more honest about origin pandemics COVID-19reports Reuters.

Burns also urged the US government to put pressure on China to become more involved in the World Health Organization.WHO), and thus strengthen the health agency.

However, when asked at the event to comment on what was published by an American newspaper, the ambassador took up a report, together with WHO, which points to natural origin virus, not a lab leak.

On the other hand, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ningdismissed reports that the pandemic was caused by a leak of a pathogen from a Chinese laboratory, and that these theories are based not on science, but on political narrative which seeks to “defame China,” Argentinean Forbes reported.
