The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G is the latest device to receive the One UI 5.1 update from Samsung, joining an ever-growing list of other updated devices. With the update, the phone now has many of the top features from the flagship Galaxy S23 lineup, making it even more competitive as one of Samsung’s best mid-range phones.
For now, only the 5G-enabled variant of the Samsung Galaxy A52 is receiving the One UI 5.1 update. It is not yet known when the regular Galaxy A52 or Galaxy A52s 5G will receive the patch, but Samsung is working to roll out One UI 5.1 to all eligible devices as soon as possible.
The One UI 5.1 update ships with firmware version A526BXXU2EWB1 and includes this month’s security patch. According to Sam Mobile, the download size is about 1 GB. Availability may vary from market to market and will depend on how quickly Samsung’s local software development team distributes it.
While the One UI 5.1 update has been released in Singapore, it looks like its rollout is limited for now. You can check if your phone got the update via its firmware version, or you can try to over the air download it from the Settings menu and then Phone Software Update.
If the One UI 5.1 update is not yet available in your market, check back regularly. Now the question is what features of One UI 5.1, originally released for the Galaxy S23, will be present in the Samsung Galaxy A52 devices.
Samsung’s update policy ensures that the Galaxy A52 series, including the Galaxy A52 5G, will receive OS updates for three years. One UI 5.1 is one such significant update, but it won’t be the last for these devices.
However, all variants and models of the A52 will have to wait a few months until they receive another major update. This is because Android 14 or One UI 6.0 if Samsung continues to use the numbering system should be the last operating system for this device.
