Counter Strike 2 could be a reality, new NVIDIA drivers show

The latest NVIDIA drivers include a direct link to Counter Strike 2, a very interesting detail that did not go unnoticed and which, as you can imagine, caused a lot of speculation. Right now we don’t have any more information than what I just gave you, so we’ll focus on that and explain what the reference means and what we can clarify.

First, it’s important to note that the numerous references found in NVIDIA drivers ended up happening the first leak of something that eventually made it to market. One of the latest examples we have in the PC version of Returnal. However, we must also make it clear that these links did not always become something real, and therefore this link does not have absolute validity.

A thorough check of the drivers revealed this two possible executables it points to Counter Strike 2, one called “CSGO2.exe” and others who identify as “CS2.exe”. This could mean a lot of things, maybe Valve was immersed in two different projects, or they just didn’t settle for one of the two names. The truth is, I wouldn’t be surprised if Counter Strike 2 ended up being called Counter Strike: Global Offensive 2, because the tagline “GO” ended up being extremely popular.

I’m not sure if we can wait complete remake games updated to the graphics engine Source Engine 2, or if on the contrary this new title will be more minor updatewith improvements focused primarily on gameplay and with affordable graphics processing even for less powerful computers.

Given the role that Counter Strike plays in the world of eSports and competitive gaming, it is true that I prefer the second option, because ultimately triggering requirements would be counterproductive as it would prevent many players from enjoying this hypothetical new installment.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on how this information develops, although we must keep in mind that nothing is confirmed yet and that this leak does not mean that Valve is going to launch Counter Strike 2 in the short term. it’s just a possibility, and the truth is, it makes a lot of sense, especially considering how long CS:GO Source has been. If you’re wondering what the second part could look like, I remind you that last year we saw a mod made by a fan that perfectly illustrated how Counter Strike 2 could be.
