The American physicist Ronald Mallet became interested in the possibility of time management as a child after the death of his father and devoted his whole life to research.
At the age of 77, he announced that he had found a solution to the problem. According to him, the fabric of space-time can be “bent” by a rotating laser ring. This way, The Guardian writes, scientists could get a time loop that would allow them to travel to the past.
Mallet believes that spinning black holes can cause time warps. Because of their great distance, he suggests finding their terrestrial counterparts. One such alternative would be a device called a ring laser – it will create an intense and continuous rotation of the light beam.
“Let’s say you have a cup of coffee in front of you right now. Start stirring with the coffee spoon. It’s started spinning, right? That’s what a spinning black hole does. Space and time are interrelated, according to Einstein.”– stated the author of the idea.
