The Danish Ministry of Defense made the relevant decision on the recommendations of the Cyber ​​Security Center on February 24, 2023. Now, Department of Defense employees need to remove TikTok from their devices.

Previously, TikTok was banned in the Danish parliament.

All employees have been informed about the decision, and they should delete the application on their work phones and other devices, if any.

The Ministry of Defense explains that this decision was made for two reasons: firstly, because of serious concerns about its implementation, and secondly – because of the small need for the performance of work duties by department employees.

Who else banned TikTok?

• The Canadian federal government banned TikTok on all government mobile devices on February 28. He said the program poses “an unacceptable level of privacy and security risk” and that the company’s data collection methods leave it vulnerable to cyberattacks.
• In a separate memo sent to its staff by Canadian International Affairs, the department cited a “review” that found that “TikTok’s data collection practices may leave users vulnerable to cyberattacks.”
• Also in February, the European Commission’s IT service instructed all employees of the European Union’s executive body to delete the TikTok video application from their workplaces and personal devices. The request, emailed to all employees on Thursday, February 23, came amid growing concerns about data protection.
• TikTok must be removed by all European Commission employees by March 15 at the latest.
