Microsoft has developed a large part of OpenAI, the GPT and ChatGPT. CEO Satya Nadella always wanted to incorporate this technology into Microsoft solutions in order to simplify the work processes of the users.

Power AI

Virtual Agent and AI Builder are part of Microsoft’s Power Platform. In it, the company bundles low-code and no-code solutions that enable non-technical profiles to build applications that solve current business problems. With Power Virtual Agent, Microsoft grants the AI ​​access to a company’s knowledge base. Based on this, users can ask questions, which the AI ​​chatbot can then answer using correct company data. Microsoft calls the functionality Stud Station Booster.

AI Builder ties in a bit with that. Similar to ChatGPT’s features, it allows users to generate text to summarize reports, for example. Ideas for marketing campaigns, e-mails or social media posts can also be generated using just a few keywords. The integration of generative AI in AI Builder is the most similar in functionality to ChatGPT today. Microsoft states that the intelligence is powered by the Azure OpenAI service.

Co-pilot for dynamics

The integration with Dynamics 365 is similar. Microsoft calls the new functionality Dynamics 365 co-pilot, analogous to GitHub Copilot. Dynamics Copilot can, among other things, provide answers to questions in chat or email, summarize team meetings, extract information from knowledge articles or generate an email that takes relevant information from the sales system into account.

Copilot actually uses data from the Dynamics 365 CRM and ERP systems to generate text. That seems useful for sellers and people in a support role.

Fast from Microsoft

The integration of AI into the above systems can quickly provide more efficiency. In the editorial department, we have already carried out tests with ChatGPT, for example to generate fictitious e-mails for sellers from simple entries and references to company websites. While the results aren’t always perfect, they offer a very comprehensive approach that people can quickly grasp.

On the other hand, the theory is still very young. The AI ​​seems smart, but it’s dumb and can’t think for itself. To be successful, it is important that users adequately understand these limitations and continue to be critical of the content generated by AI. In any case, Microsoft is keen to incorporate generative AI into its products and will undoubtedly not be the last to do so.
