RoboCop: Rogue City is a highly anticipated game, especially by the most nostalgic, that is, those of us who saw the first of the films of the saga back then, and even more so for those of us who got into the role of this futuristic lawman in the game from 1988 and made it to the main platforms of today (Spektrum, Amstrad, MSX , Atari, etc.). As I commented a while ago with a friend from work, it is well known that nostalgia predisposes us to pull our wallets out of our pockets, and that they can exploit this weakness.

However, I’m not saying that it’s long awaited just because of the desire to play it, it also takes into account the fact that its launch has been delayed, since it was previously planned for June, but we learned that it is being postponed until September. Is it good or bad? Opinion depends on each, but personally, I’ve learned to prefer as many delays as necessary to release games under conditions, rather than premature and disastrous launches. So I’m sure that the subsequent delays of RoboCop: Rogue City will translate into a well-finished product upon launch.

Be that as it may, and as the developers and editors know that the community is very aware of this upcoming release, they decided to share trailer with about two minutes of RoboCop: Rogue City gameplayvideo which as you can see below looks really promising:

This new RoboCop: Rogue City gameplay confirms something we already knew before, and that’s it the game takes us into the original franchise, not the remake released in 2003, which also had its own game. So we see Alex Murphy walking the streets of a particularly run-down Detroit (at this point Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 film proved very cautionary) with a HUD that quite adequately reproduces the original film.

Visually, it looks quite promising., and although it is a relatively calculated selection of scenes, first impressions are quite positive. Let’s remember that this is oa shooter in first person, which is why this teaser is particularly interesting, as it shows us the shooting mechanics that we will find in the game, along with the information that is displayed in the viewfinder.

RoboCop: Rogue City hits stores for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in September, barring further delays. We hope the wait will be worth it.
