This Thursday, Google News (Google News in English) received a new desktop version (9). The update introduces new customization features to allow the user to create experiences and receive news tailored to their interests.
Google will provide VPN access to all Google One subscribers
Now Google offers the user about 60 new topics to choose from and determines what kind of news he prefers to see in his feed. On the For You page, users can access the settings in the upper right corner and select various options from which region they expect to receive news, new topics more relevant to their interests. Previously, you could select options such as World, Business, Technology, Entertainment, Sports, Science, and Health, and change the order of preferences.
With the new update, the user can choose up to 60 different themes. There are 9 core subjects: News, Entertainment, Sports, Business, Technology, Health, Science, Education, and Lifestyle. Among the main themes, you can choose several options that will help Google News determine your preferences. For example, in the Technology theme, we have options: Mobile Devices, Energy, Games, Internet Security, Virtual Reality, Robotics, Peripherals, etc. You You can select up to 12 options and arrange them however you like.
The new Google News customization options were launched this Thursday in the US. Configuration options are not currently available to users in all regions and should be updated over the next few weeks. So if you go to Google News and can’t find the new options, don’t worry, they should be available soon.
Either way, it’s interesting to see the platform offer more detailed options so that users can more precisely define what news they want to read. In addition, it will also be possible to return the platform to the original configuration if the user decides to cancel all their settings.
