Recent rumors suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 5, one of Samsung’s big launches in 2023, will not feature an improved camera. This news may be discouraging for some, especially when you add to this the lack of an S Pen attached to the body of the device, as in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The possibility that the new Galaxy Z Fold won’t bring camera changes over the outgoing model is a little discouraging. This is because it is the foldable cell phone line that brings more and more news to consumers, who may have to wait a bit to see the Z Fold 5 news.
According to well-known leaker Ice Universe, the latest Galaxy Z Fold 5 rumor indicates that there will be no changes to the device’s camera modules. It also ensures that it will not be possible to insert the new Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor responsible for the 200 megapixels present in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Possible excuse for not changing
While the exact reason for not being able to include the new Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 foldable smartphone is still unclear, it may be due to the physical size required to accommodate the entire camera array. Since the Galaxy Z Fold consists of two halves of a phone separated by a screen, one of them is thinner than a traditional device.
If the rumors are true, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will come with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main camera, a 12MP secondary camera, and a 10MP third camera. The smartphone will also have a 10MP front camera for the outer screen and another 4MP camera below the internal display.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 camera change confirmation will only be available during device launch. So far, Samsung has not yet announced the date of the presentation. However, it is believed that the announcement will take place in August this year. It seems to have been the month chosen by the manufacturer for presentations of the company’s foldable cell phones.
