This was reported by Bloomberg, Ukrinform reports.
Dave Limp, the company’s senior vice president, said the first two Kuiper test satellites were sent to Cape Canaveral, Florida, in May in preparation for a possible launch.
It also showed various prototypes of user terminals that future customers will use to connect to the satellite.
Amazon’s smallest model offers speeds of up to 100 megabits per second. The larger 11-inch square antenna is capable of transmitting 400 megabits per second, while the 19-by-30-inch model can transmit 1 gigabit per second.
The company didn’t reveal the price of the device, but it plans to make the 11-inch-square version for less than $400 per unit.
As Ukrinform reported, on February 11, Amazon received official permission from the US authorities to launch thousands of satellites and create its own Kuiper satellite Internet network.
