“We are ready for production. Robit Technology Product Director Selçuk Fırat said, “We will be able to meet future orders.”
The delta wing platform with a high load carrying capacity has successfully passed all flight tests.
Shooting tests of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are planned in the near future.
Fırat added that ammunition tests for the Azab unmanned aerial vehicle will be carried out in the coming months and will be completed by the end of the third quarter of this year.
Noting that different types of warheads can be integrated into the Azab unmanned aerial vehicle, Fırat said that there are two versions with a wingspan of 2 meters and 1.5 meters.
He noted that a UAV with a wingspan of 2 meters can carry a payload of up to 15 kilograms.
The device can be deployed in various modes such as drop-and-forget and free-motion or with the help of an operator who can direct the kamikaze drone to a target from a distance of 200 kilometers using a camera.
“Azab” can also directly reach and destroy a target using the provided GPS coordinates.
According to Fırat, ammunition for mortars, tank guns and RPGs can be easily integrated into the new unmanned aerial vehicle. He added that Azab can be used with both artificial and real ammunition, depending on the target.
As reported by Ukrinform, the fact that China has sent more than $12 million of drones and spare parts to Russia since its invasion of Ukraine points to “silent cooperation” between the countries.
