Italian startup iSpace2o has officially announced the start of production of the first hull for a submarine called Deepseaker DS1. The main feature of this vehicle in versatility – the boat can stay afloat, developing a speed of 23 knots (43 km / h), but if necessary, the owner can dive to a depth of 50 meters to study the underwater fauna and flora. At the same time, the manufacturer considers his invention unique in its kind, as there are no more high-speed boats in the world that can dive underwater, especially at this depth.

But the uniqueness of the vehicle is not limited to this, as the boat is fully electric and has a special body and “wings” shape at the rear. The truth is that most electric boats have little power due to the resistance of the water surface, but the design of the Deepseaker DS1 solves this problem. The rear “wings” resembling a projectile and when passing through the fuselage, the vehicle in front separates from the water, significantly reducing drag and increasing range. But the manufacturer did not provide exact data.

The iSpace2o engineers also promise to implement the technology to extract oxygen from ocean water so that the user does not need additional oxygen cylinders on board while underwater. And most interestingly, experts also promise to implement artificial intelligence technology in the style of Tesla – the boat will be able to go from point to point, and the owner will only have to specify the coordinates. However, this is not new news for water transport, as there are many ships (even cargo) in the world that move without a captain in a certain orbit. But for small vehicles, this is of course great news.
