Colombian authorities announced the arrest this Wednesday seven members of the Sinaloa cartel accused of manufacturing and selling fentanylthe opioid that caused a public health crisis in the United States.

The National Police of Colombia indicated that the Office of Criminal Investigations of this body, together with the US Drug Enforcement Agency and the Colombian Prosecutor’s Office, detained these persons of Mexican nationality, “with a view to extradition” to the United States.
