Microsoft maximizes collaboration with OpenAI by now providing access to DALL-E directly within Bing.
Today, under the name of Bing Image Creator, you can use DALL-E’s technology in beta to generate images based on text. You can access the new Bing with GPT 4 technology from the sidebar in the recently updated Edge browser or the Android app.
Microsoft adds additional security rules beyond those of OpenAI to prevent the service from being abused to generate malicious images. Every image that comes out of the service also gets a clear watermark to show that it is an AI-generated image.
The renewed Bing is not yet available to everyone and is currently working with a waiting list. Don’t have access yet? You can test Bing Image Creator today separately through this dedicated website. What is the added value to DALL-E, which has been available since last year, is not immediately clear.
Although the website is displayed in Dutch, the service currently only supports English to generate images. Anyone signed in with their Microsoft account can use 10 AI-generated images per day at high speed (wait 10-15 seconds). If you exceed this limit, it will take much longer before you can admire the result.
Yesterday Adobe announced its DALL-E alternative under the name Adobe Firefly. There, too, the service can initially only be used as a beta via a website. Finally, Adobe plans to integrate generative AI tools into its creative apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.
