The ChatGPT chat bot had a crash where some users could see the names of conversations with other users’ bots.
This was reported by the BBC, Ukrinform reports.
Users share chat history images on social networking sites Reddit and Twitter that they believe do not belong to them.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman added that the company felt “terrible” about the outage, but that the “important” bug had already been fixed. He noted that experts have fixed the error and that the company will soon conduct a technical analysis to further investigate the issue.
Despite this, many users continue to worry about privacy on the platform. The crash seems to indicate that OpenAI has access to user chats.
Millions of people have used ChatGPT since it became available last November. The chatbot records every conversation in the user’s chat history so they can come back to it later. This feature is useful because it allows users to easily refer to previous chats.
The company’s privacy policy states that user data such as tips and answers can be used to further train the AI model. However, this data is only used after the personal information has been deleted.
The glitch comes just a day after Google introduced the Bard chatbot to a group of beta testers and journalists.
As Ukrinform reported, on Monday the ChatGPT chatbot stopped working and users around the world complained of problems with OpenAI.
