Xiaomi’s affordable middle class wants to fight a lot this 2023

Aesthetically, their older brothers, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, don’t have much to envy, they actually look very similar. Xiaomi has decided to keep the aesthetic we saw previously implemented in the POCO X4 GT, but when it comes to these input devices, The construction is completely plastic.

In addition to this already characteristic aesthetic in the Xiaomi catalog, the brand has decided to use different colors for each. special emphasis on forest green or mint and ice blue colorswhich makes the devices look really nice.

For the rest, both terminals are exactly the same, with an infrared sensor at the top, a 3.5mm jack socket, a fingerprint sensor on the side and even a very well used front with it. the screen hole we see in other devices of the brand.

When it comes to finding the differences, we have to go to the internal hardware of each. In this case, while the new Redmi Note 12 5G prefers the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor, The 4G version wears a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685It’s a slightly more powerful chip, but it lacks the 5G connectivity that many users will miss.

On the other hand, the Redmi Note 12 5G can reach LPDDR4X RAM configurations up to 6GB, the 4G model stays at 4GB and can reach up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, but luckily, both can expand this memory up to 1TB via micro SD and enjoy larger amount of internal memory to store data.

The batteries that offer capacity are the same. Fast charging up to 33 W with 5,000 mAh and included chargersomething similar to what happens on their screens, as both equip a very good 6.67 inch AMOLED DotDisplay panel with Full HD + resolution and refresh rate up to 120 Hz Maximum brightness up to 1,200 nitsscandalous figures for smartphones of this price.

Finally, something that caught our attention is that these devices come with MIUI 14 installed from the factory, but only the 4G model does this with Android 12, something that will surely be fixed with an update as soon as possible. We also find slight differences in their cameras, although both are the same. Ultra wide angle as the macro sensor and front camera are exactly the same.

In this case, Xiaomi is a Redmi Note 12 5G wears a 48 MP main sensor with f / 1.8 aperture, while Redmi Note 12 wears a 50 MP main sensor with f / 1.8 aperture. It is not clear which of the two will give the better result, but it is curious that the cheapest model will have a lower resolution sensor.
