As Ukrinform reports, Sky News reports this.
The House of Commons and House of Lords committees have announced that TikTok will be blocked from all parliamentary devices and the wider UK parliamentary network.
“Cybersecurity is a priority for Parliament, but we do not comment on specific details of our cyber or physical security controls, policies or events,” said Parliament.
Meanwhile, TikTok will still be able to be used on personal devices while in Parliament if the devices are not connected to the Parliament’s Wi-Fi network.
As reported, the use of the Chinese application TikTok on the business phones of ministers and civil servants was banned in the UK on March 17 for security reasons.
TikTok has also been banned on official devices in the US, Canada, Belgium, India, Denmark, Czech Republic, and New Zealand. A similar ban is planned in the Netherlands.
TikTok vehemently denied accusations of giving user data to the Chinese government.
