Azab kamikaze drone with long flight range was developed in Turkey. The new drone is currently undergoing flight tests. Turkish company Robit Technology created Azab in two different ways. Selcuk Fırat, the company’s UAV unit manager, explained this situation in an interview with Defense Turk. According to him, the operator can control the new drones with the help of a video camera and via a ground station.
Also, these drones can fly along predetermined coordinates to destroy the target. They can be equipped with various combat units. Firing tests of the Azab kamikaze drone are expected to begin soon and are scheduled to begin in the coming months. There are two versions of the Azab kamikaze drone: the T200 with a wingspan of 2 meters and the T150 with a wingspan of 1.5 meters.
Both versions are equipped with a control system via an autopilot and a ground control station. According to Fırat, Azab T200 has a take-off weight of 50 kg and carries a useful load of 15 kg. The operator can control the aircraft using an onboard camera with an image transmission range at a distance of 200 km.
At the same time, the maximum flight range of the drone is up to 500 km. Flight altitude 300 to 3000 m, speed up to 270 km/h.
The smaller Azab T150 kamikaze drone model is designed for shorter distances. The drone weighs only 7 kg and carries a payload of 3 kg. Image transmission from the onboard video camera to the control panel is up to 150 km, the maximum flight range is 200 km. The developers claim that the drones also have protection against radio-electronic interference. Source
