The Ministry of Digital Transformation is starting beta tests of Diya.Imza, which is in compliance with the European Union’s eIDAS regulation. It can be used to sign documents or contracts valid in Ukraine and EU countries.

This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Statistics.

“Diya.Signature henceforth complies with eIDAS regulation of European Union. It can be used to sign documents or contracts valid both in Ukraine and EU countries. For now you can use Diya.Signature-EU on two platforms and later the functionality will be scaled to others” message is located.

The ministry explained that previously counterparties in the EU could not verify the Ukrainian electronic signature due to the lack of technological compatibility. However, recently, the European Commission published the list of countries included in the TC AdES LOTL special list. Ukraine was the first country to enter this list.

In this context, Action.Signature-EU beta testing has started. This is the same electronic signature that can be activated in 1 minute in the “Action” application on a smartphone. But now it meets the technical requirements of the EU.

For example, it can be used to sign a cooperation agreement with European partners.

The Digital Ministry encouraged users to participate in beta testing to be the first to test the update. This can be done by anyone who owns Action.Signature. To do this you need to update Diya to the latest version.

The Ministry reminded that to activate Diya.Signature, Diya must have at least one document: identity card, foreign passport or residence permit.

During testing, you can sign the Diya.Pidpisom-EU document on two platforms: at id.gov.ua (ICEI) and at the Vchasno document processing service.

As reported, in 2022 Ukraine joined the seven-year “Digital Europe” program with a total of 6 billion euros. The program provides funding for the digitalization of European countries in various directions. Its purpose is to accelerate economic recovery and digital transformation.
