Task management applications are a good helper in managing our precious time, a great treasure that is not always easy to manage in the hectic times we have lived in and when the new work culture of hybrid work presents additional challenges.

This management includes different aspects and approaches. Technology helps us, and the software we’ve chosen includes features planning, allocation or monitoring with which we can ultimately organize ourselves better to use our precious time on a professional or personal level.

Useful app for calendar organization and integration. Gmail’s look and feel includes recurring tasks, subtasks, sharing, collaboration, comments, labels, and prioritization. If you use a lot of Google tools, it’s a good idea to take advantage of them, especially the Workspace suite.

The basic features of the app are available for free, although it has personal and business plans.

The app lets you turn messages into tasks, which can then be assigned to any team member and filtered by status, data and people.

It allows any task in a related flow to be discussed with relevant team members in separate conversations and can be presented as a board or a Kanban task list. Very easy to configure and assign, it also offers integration with third-party applications. It has a free plan for small and medium businesses and a paid business plan.

SmartTask

Another good tool project and task management. which can be used to plan, track and assign tasks to members of the work team. It has added CRM and chat features, allows you to create custom reports, and offers advanced search and insight into performance and workload. It has a powerful interface but can be easily displayed between multiple views with list, calendar, boards and timeline.

It offers a free trial and various payment plans, general or personalized for each client.

RescueTime

If you prefer to use a desktop application for time management, RescueTime is a good choice as it is available for Windows, Mac or Linux platforms (except mobile platforms). After installation, it tracks the time spent to calculate a degree of productivity based on visited websites and used applications from each category, which can be customized for each user.

It offers options for setting goals and has both a free and a paid version.

Todoist

It is one of task managers most popular on the market. Very similar to the missing and popular Wunderlist, as it allows you to plan and organize simple tasks for one person or large tasks for a work team. You can set color-coded priority levels, deadlines and reminders, task assignments or notes. It also offers collaboration features that make it easy to assign tasks and workloads.

It is available in a free version via the web and mobile devices and has additional payment options that offer additional features.

Microsoft To Do

Speaking of Wunderlist, you can’t miss it direct replacement since Microsoft acquired it and used its technology and equipment to develop it. Like the others on this list, it’s a cloud-based task management app that syncs with your Outlook email client. Of course, it excels in its integration with Office and Microsoft 365, the most used suite for productivity and collaboration in the IT industry.

It allows users to manage their tasks from anywhere through a browser because it is cloud-based, although it also has an app for Windows, macOS, and Android. It is completely free and only requires the use of a Microsoft ID account.
