Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Group has pledged to spend about $18.2 billion by 2030 to increase electric vehicle production.

Aiming to become one of the world’s top three electric car manufacturers, Hyundai plans to increase its annual electric car production in Korea to 1.51 million units by the end of this decade. That’s about 40% of the 3.64 million global electric vehicle production.
Hyundai Motor Group includes Hyundai Motor Co., Kia Corp., the Genesis brand, and Hyundai Mobis Co.’s parts and service division.
The company said it plans to have 31 models of electric cars in its brand range by 2030. Hyundai and Genesis previously planned to launch at least 17 battery-powered electric vehicles and 14 models from Kia by 2030.
As reported by Ukrinform, Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp. It announced on Friday that it will launch 10 new electric car models by 2026.
