The way you use keyboard mouse shows how stressed you are

According to many surveys and surveys, our eminent country is one of the most stressed, angry and unhappy countries in the world. This Stress is also very high in work life.. Even though we may not realize it because it is part of our daily routine, stress causes many health problems and being stressed all the time makes us sick.

Recognizing the need to detect and prevent stress, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology has taken an important step in this regard. Each One in three people reported feeling stressed at work A new model for detecting and preventing stress has been developed in Switzerland.

The model detects stress where it starts, namely at work;

Eight researchers from different fields of psychology and information technology participated in the study. using machine learning a model has been developed. During the development of the model, the team analyzed the data by examining a group of 90 participants.

While some participants were given a working environment where they could work comfortably, were undisturbed and not exposed to any disturbance, some were given a more ‘realistic’ working environment where they were interrupted by meetings, questions and messages. 90 participants Heart rates were also tracked along with mouse and keyboard movements.

Mara Nägelin, one of the authors of the study, says that the keyboard and mouse use of people who work under stress differs from that of a non-stressed employee. In addition, the behavior of keyboard and mouse use according to the team, stress level better than heart rate determines.

So how do stressed people use the keyboard and mouse?

Nägelin explains these gestures as: “People who are stressed move the mouse cursor more often and less precisely, and travels longer distances. Relaxed people, on the other hand, take shorter, more direct routes to achieve their goals and spend more time doing so.

But why does stress affect our keyboard and mouse movements? if you say;

According to the team, increased stress levels negatively affect our brain’s ability to process information. This is too negatively affect our motor skills. why is this happening. Of course, how we use the keyboard and mouse also depends on whether we are stressed or not.

The model developed by the study is currently tracking and testing participants’ data, which are still allowing, while they are at work;

The goal of the team is to keep this data confidential and only for employees. identify stress levels and improve conditions be used for. However, a privacy issue arises.

For that reason, the team also collaborated with another working group of employees and ethicists. remain anonymous and cannot be used to the detriment of employees He is researching what to do.
