Update old iPad and iPhone

So Apple has been working on an update for users of the newer, but also the older models. The 15.7.4 update will therefore be released for the older iPads and iPhones. Due to a series of security updates, we encourage all users to apply this update as well. One of the problems this solves is that the people in your contact list could be read by the accessibility features. A total of sixteen vulnerabilities have been fixed.

For users who have an Apple device that can handle the 16.4 update, some new features have been added, we briefly list the most important ones for you:

• One of those features is the addition of 21 new emojis.
• Ambient noise is blocked on mobile calls and your voice is prioritized.
• The Communication Safety setting for children gives parents the ability to turn on warnings for children when they receive or send photos that contain nudity.
• The parent’s purchase request sometimes did not appear on the parent’s screen. This issue has been resolved.
• Accident detection on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models has been optimized.

So please note that not all features may be available on your Apple device. Read below which iPhones and iPads can and cannot handle the update.

Which devices will receive the update?

Due to the new iOS 16.4 update, there will most likely be iPhone and iPad models that cannot handle this update. The iOS 15.7.4 update can therefore be downloaded if you have an older model. This affects the following models:

• iPhone 6s (Plus)
• iPhone 7 (Plus)
• iPhone SE (2016)

The following iPads are eligible for the iPadOS update, which also includes the 15.7.4 update:

• iPad mini 4
• iPad Air 2

Follow the steps below to download these updates:

• Open the Settings app.
• Tap on “General”.
• Tap on “Software update”.
• Tap Download, then tap Install.

The iPhone or iPad installs this software update, the device reboots, and you’re back up to date.
