The first Apple Store in India was opened this week by CEO Tim Cook at the Bandra Kurla complex in Mumbai. But a surprise awaited the CEO when one of the Apple loyalists showed up with an old Macintosh. His expression was quickly caught by the many digital eyes on the site.
The 1984 Macintosh is owned by a resident named Sajid, a UX designer by profession who enjoys working on Apple products. As seen in the video, Cook had a long and fascinating moment before the two chatted to the loud cheers of the crowd before continuing to take pictures on an old Macintosh.

“I’m also a designer, used to be a print designer, now I’ve moved to UI/UX, now I’m doing digital design. I am very happy and proud that Apple has finally opened a store here. This is an important moment for Apple users in India and we look forward to visiting this store and experiencing the latest Apple products,” Sajid told Money Control.
Apple BKC covers 20,000 square feet and has more than 100 employees who speak about 20 languages. Apple claims the store is powered by 100% renewable energy. The iPhone maker will open another retail store in Saket, Delhi on Thursday this week.
