According to the project “Drone Army”, specialized government agencies have already signed contracts with more than 3.8 thousand unmanned aerial vehicles in the amount of 4.1 billion hryvnia.
In this respect Deputy Prime Minister for Innovations, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Development – Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov told Ukrinform in an interview.
“We signed contracts with more than 3,800 UAV complexes for more than UAH 4.1 billion, and we also trained more than 7 thousand unmanned aerial vehicle operators. Our goal is to train 10 thousand people, and we are moving in this direction,” he said.
Fedorov added that there are currently more than 20 schools in Ukraine where people can learn to fly drones. The number of schools increases by one or two every month. Also, almost every drone manufacturer has its own internal school.
As reported, “Drone Army” is a project initiated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Digital Ministry. This is a comprehensive program in which the systematic purchase of drones, their repair and training courses for relevant specialists are planned. The project started on 1 July.
