This week, Nokia officially announced the arrival of the Nokia XR21., a solid mid-range phone that promises to bring good hardware into the hands of users. Shortly after leaking details about the phone, HMD Global finally announced a new device from Nokia.

The first information provided by the manufacturer indicates that the Nokia XR21 will arrive in the United Kingdom via the company’s official website this Wednesday (3). It’s available for around $625, something like R$3,100 at current exchange rates. There is no information about a release in Brazil..

The new phone has a similar design to its predecessor, with an aluminum frame and a supposedly polycarbonate back. According to HMD, the device is MIL-STD-810H certified and has an IP69K dust and water resistance rating.

The IP69K protection is a different upgrade from the previous generation. This is because the Nokia XR21 can withstand high pressure hot water jets. The company also claims that the new phone is capable of withstanding high-pressure washing.

As if that weren’t enough, the device also has Gorilla Glass Victus screen protection in addition to a warranty that guarantees at least one replacement per year in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. There is no information whether other regions of the world where the device will be launched will also have this coverage.

The new smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 695 5G processor, which is a modest improvement over the previous Snapdragon 480 SoC. The device also features 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 6.49-inch FHD+ LCD screen with 500 nits of brightness, as well as refresh rate of 120 Hz.

To be able to power this device, Nokia has made sure that it comes with a 4800mAh battery with 33W fast wired charging. This allows users to charge the battery from 0% to 100% in just a few minutes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have wireless charging, which is a downgrade from the previous model.

As for the photos that the device can take, the Nokia XR21 is equipped with a 64-megapixel camera (f/1.79, 0.7 micron pixel size). It also has an 8MP ultra-wide camera on the back. On the front of the device is a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
