We are talking about Google again and once again, not for the better, now in the amount of a increase in advertising in Gmail which makes users very angry, not only because of the increase in ads they experience, but also because of the way it does it.

Yes, Gmail does have advertising, although it tends to go a bit unnoticed as there is generally not much of it and it is strategically placed to be distinguishable from other messages as they are not banners traditional what the service shows, but some kind of messages marked as advertising that no one opens. Of course, it’s somewhat more common to notice this on mobile than on PC, for those of adblocks which many people use

However, more and more people are complaining about the same thing: more ads in Gmail and worse, more intrusive than ever before between messages as if they were one more. Something they’ve already asked Google without getting an answer at this point. And although most of the coverage is received by Anglo-Saxon users, you can already see complaints in Spanish about the same thing on Twitter.

Personally, I have not encountered anything like this and the fact that I manage several Gmail accounts, some even for free, among others with a Google One subscription or a professional type with Google Workspaces, which are perhaps left out of this unwanted news. At least for now. We’ll see later.

Or maybe it’s because, as Neowin points out, users who have disabled message categories do not receive these ads in their inboxes, even though there seems to be a little bit of everything. Be that as it may, Google will have to say something sooner rather than later, as the news is already covered by much of the niche media.

In another order, there are real news about Gmail, which have been officially announced, such as the blue checks for verifying messages, which are starting to be deployed among all users of the service.
