The tech giant known for its pioneering role in online search highlighted its focus on artificial intelligence (AI) recently during an event. The company reaffirmed its commitment to AI by stating, “Make AI useful for everyone.” The focus on AI, according to the company, does not compromise security, which is a critical aspect in a scenario where competition drives up the use of AI, often irresponsibly.



AI innovations showcased at this year’s Google I/O event included generative artificial intelligence, a system that generates content based on your learning. An example is ChatGPT, which is trained to generate text. The company plans to integrate the technology into all of its products, citing its use in Gmail, where an AI-generated smart response provides suggested responses to users.

Another innovation introduced is the Help Me Write tool, which creates a draft email for the user. On Google Maps, Immersive View technology provides a three-dimensional representation of a location with changes over time and up-to-date information. Also honored was Google Photos, one of the first products to receive AI. The new Magic Editor tool allows the user to move elements around the photo.

However, the company is also looking to the future. It announced the launch of Google DeepMind, the new name of a team that develops cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies. They are working on a new generation of AI with high processing power called Gemini.

As AI advances, there are concerns about transparency and copyright. The company is working on a digital watermark that will identify content created by artificial intelligence.



Among the new offerings, the company introduced Bard, an artificial intelligence-based conversational assistant. The smart assistant, which is trained in over 20 programming languages, has been integrated into Google Docs, helping users write and provide information.

In terms of search, the company is working to include AI-generated search results before content search results. This raises questions about the impact on ads and user-generated content.
