Let’s start with the fact that the Lavida XR cannot be called a completely new model, since it has been present in the global Volkswagen line since 2017. So the premiere of this car is only like this in China.
In fact, the Lavida XR is our Polo’s cousin. Cars play in the same class, yet they are structurally different. However, what is the difference. Most importantly, the novelty may well fill a vacant place and compensate for the acute shortage of compact four-doors that has arisen in the domestic market due to the imposition of sanctions.
The Lavida XR is powered by a combination of a 110 hp 1.5 liter naturally aspirated engine and a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission. The equipment includes six airbags, cruise control, a rear view camera, a light sensor, a digital instrument panel, a sunroof, a push button start system and many other “comfortable” options.
Prices are not yet known, but it is safe to assume that the price will start at about 100,000 yuan – that is about 1,150,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. If Russian dealers are interested in this model, then it can cost us 1.8-1.9 million, because a slightly larger third-generation Lavida sedan – yes, yes, it is already transported through parallel imports – is offered from 2, 1 million.
It remains only to add that sales of the Volkswagen Lavida XR will begin in China in June.
