Rogerio also points out that the tests may indicate effects on materials in the system that help fuel cars, in addition to injection mapping. This is because it is possible that they have been prepared for a certain type of ethanol content and not what it will represent.

Increasing the ethanol content of gasoline to 30% could prevent nearly 3 million tons of carbon dioxide from being emitted annually, Copersucar predicts. Although ethanol is less polluting, it is more aggressive for engines that run exclusively on gasoline.

Components manufacturer Delphi believes that this can significantly affect the condition of some parts of the car. She argues that parts can wear more than usual, which requires increased attention from drivers.

“Due to the composition of ethanol, renewable fuels are more aggressive than gasoline. For this reason, increasing the ethanol content of gasoline can indeed affect the vehicle’s injection system, leading to more rapid wear of parts, ”the manufacturer said.
