Weaving in the tank: the first review of the Skywell HT-i hybrid crossover

A presentation of another novelty from the Chinese company Skywell took place in Moscow. The HT-i model with a hybrid power plant will appear in June. About how the next “Asian” will conquer Russian buyers, the portal “AvtoVzglyad” says.

The Skywell brand is very young, but it has already made such huge strides that our car factories, if they dreamed of it, dream only in the brightest of dreams. It all started in 1988, when businessman Huang Hongsheng founded Skyworth, a TV remote control company.

Innovation for the masses

If we talk about cold Russia, then the first model to arrive here was the Skywell ET5 electric car. But “electric trains”, and even premium ones, are still too unusual for our brother. Hybrids are much more obvious, as they were once promoted by Lexus. The presentation of the Skywell HT-i with a cunning fuel-power plant was therefore a logical step for the Chinese.

It consists of an electric motor with a capacity of 177 liters. Of. and a 1.5 liter “aspirated” with a return of 103 liters. Of. Depending on the configuration, acceleration to one hundred takes 7.9 or 8.2 seconds. Note that this indicator is affected by a traction battery with a thermoregulation system. “Misunderstandings”

Interestingly, the “luxury” instance has two connectors – for fast and slow charging. The rest have only one. The default is Chinese. That is, you still need to understand which consoles you can connect to, and which it makes no sense to poke with a cable. European specifications for sockets are promising for the future. That is why there is an economical petrol engine. But here, too, there are quirks.

The device has a high compression ratio – 15.5: 1. Mazda, with its Skyactive technology, nervously smokes on the sidelines. Fuel tank – decent 60 litres. And they recommend filling it with 92nd gasoline! You can gain weight fast, and literally. A few fillings with “bodyaga” with such an octane rating may well remain in the pistons without bridges. Therefore, use only high-quality gasoline – the 98th, and preferably “hundred”. This prevents explosion and allows you to travel more than 1000 km on one tank. That’s why hybrids are loved.

By the way, after inspecting the car, I noticed quite strong rust on the brake discs. It feels like the brake pads are not fully compressed when braking. I hope the dealers find the reasons.

Externally, Skywell HT-i is quite nice. The length is 4720 mm, width – 1908 mm, height – 1701 mm, and the wheelbase is 2800 mm. That is, it is a competitor of Skoda Kodiaq or Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. The interior is stylish and the seats are comfortable. The finish is of a fairly high level. Yes, and the equipment is rich. There are laser headlights, a sunroof, a digital instrument panel and a 12.8-inch multimedia screen.

As for the prices, they have not yet been mentioned. However, according to the head of Skywell in Russia, Alexander Ivanov, the car will be cheaper than the ET5 electric car (from 4,480,000 rubles). If a little more than 3,000,000 rubles are asked for the “base”, this is generally a good offer. And economical too. After all, fuel consumption with a fully charged battery is 0.8 liters per hundred kilometers.
