Strictly in the spirit of modern fashion in China’s auto industry, Omoda and Jaecoo have once again announced their plans to mass-produce electric vehicles and hybrids. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” learned about new brands that “threaten” the Russian car market.
At the next Chery dealer conference in China, dedicated to the activities of the subsidiaries Jaecoo and Omoda, it was announced that one of them, Jaecoo, plans to launch a completely new model – its own – by the end of 2023 “hybrid” type PHEV. It is not yet known what kind of car it is, but there is a good chance that it will also appear on the Russian car market. As well as the Omoda C5 EV crossover train, sales of which are expected to start in Russia in October-November 2023.
Recall that the all-electric version of the Omoda C5 was first officially shown at the Shanghai Auto Show last April. The AvtoVzglyad portal previously reported that the Jaecoo brand, which also made its debut at that motor show, plans to launch two of its models on the Russian market by the end of this year: the crossovers Jaecoo J7 and Jaecoo J9. It is believed that the Jaecoo J7 is a technical clone of the Chery TJ-1, and the Jaecoo J9 is nothing more than another “fresh” of Chery, a large Tiggo 9 SUV.
