The new traffic rules came into force in Russia on March 1, 2023, but many drivers still do not understand them. This is evident from the results of another study: the vast majority of respondents (namely 91%) could not answer all questions correctly.
The question about the principle of driving on a roundabout gave the participants the most difficulties – every second car owner (58%) gave the wrong answer. 52% of the respondents did not know that it is impossible to stop at the security islands, and 44% “failed” with electronic documents (which can be presented to the traffic police officer in digital form).
In addition, the survey participants were asked about their attitude towards their own fines. And it is curious that almost a third of car owners (30%) are sure that they have been wrongly fined. The majority (18%) attribute everything to “coincidence”, a further 17% complain about malfunctioning cameras, 15% admit to breaking traffic rules to avoid an accident, 6% see the root of the evil pedestrians, 3% in other drivers.
It should only be added that the research was conducted by analysts from the Renaissance Insurance Group and the Autocode service for checking and selecting cars. And 1,200 respondents aged 18 and older living in major cities of Russia took part in it.
