Deputies engaged in import replacement of spare parts for foreign cars

It is planned that a draft law will be submitted to the State Duma in the near future to facilitate or allow the production of auto parts for foreign-made cars in Russia. Under the sauce that the supply of spare parts from abroad is long and expensive, and in general there is a chronic shortage of them in Russia.

— We’ve had discussions with manufacturers, insurers, those who work in this market. The cost of products for imported cars has risen sharply. Accordingly, the question arose: what to do to reduce the cost of parts for repair. It turned out that in Russia there are companies that can produce high-quality products. Much the same, despite the bans, is being done in other countries today. Therefore, together with the State Duma Transport Committee, we have prepared proposals on this issue, – said Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the financial market, one of the authors of the draft law.

As it should be in such cases, the developers of the novel repeat pious mantras about state requirements for the quality of future parts, certification of their manufacturers, and so on. To an outside observer, the mere appearance of such an account causes some bewilderment. If only because in Russia now, and so no one forbids the production of analogues of imported car parts. Under your brand, do what you want for the car, when your product is ready to be bought from you. Most importantly – don’t use other people’s trademarks.

The question is: are official representatives of foreign car brands (or their successors) willing to use such non-original spare parts for maintenance and warranty repairs? It is unlikely that they can be forced to do so by a single law. And the companies specializing in the production of auto parts in our country can be counted on the fingers.

Nevertheless, the authors of the bill turned to the Russian government with a request to support their idea, Izvestia reports.
