Microsoft has announced its Copilot operating system assistant. It’s available to anyone with a Windows 11 PC, and it’s free. However, the company did not say how long the tool would be able to be used by everyone and said that it is currently in the testing phase for some people.
What is Windows Copilot?
Windows Copilot is an operating system assistant that works like a ChatBot, essentially a trained, information-rich robot that can replicate how we humans communicate in text.
The new assistant is based on the OpenAI GPT model such as ChatGPT and Bing Chat. You can now ask Microsoft AI questions and get answers about your computer or other work-related questions. From what has been demonstrated, Copilot has a local focus, that is, it does not have access to the Internet.
Apparently, those who want to use the Internet connectivity features with the ChatBot template will need to use Bing Chat or ChatGPT with some kind of plugin.
The functionality of this novelty is quite diverse, it is the first computer system to integrate an assistant of this type and is so advanced that this is a very big change that we will keep an eye on. In addition to answering questions about your computer and system, you can also ask him to change your computer settings, read documents for review, summarize and rewrite, and more.
Another interesting feature is to integrate with other plugins so that you can use tools that can extend the resources of ChatBot, making Copilot even more powerful. In the demo video, they used the Adobe app as an example, and from the looks of it, the integration is simple and functional.
