The Gorky Automobile Plant was engaged in the industrial assembly of various models of the German brand. At the moment, according to Manturov, GAZ is considering four candidate companies to organize production in the former Volkswagen facilities.

At the same time, the minister claims that it is not about the industrial assembly of foreign car models, but about organizing full-fledged joint production at GAZ, controlled by the Russian side.
