The Car of the Year Award, presented annually by the Automobile Journalists Association (OGD), was awaited with great interest by car enthusiasts. A few months ago, the 7 finalists of the competition, in which the best car in our country is selected, were announced on 33.
The winner of the prize, which was awarded for the eighth time this year, was officially announced today. Nissan’s favorite car X trailwon the Car of the Year award, surpassing its competitors in the votes of motoring journalists.
Nissan X-Trail narrowly beat the Peugeot 408 to take the prize

Nissan’s SUV model X-Trail managed to get the highest score in the competition, leaving all competitors behind. The car passed the Peugeot 408 by a narrow margin and 3580 points with first place. Like a Peugeot 408 3550 with second place.
Other finalists left behind by X-Trail in the Car of the Year Award were Toyota Corolla Cross, Opel Astra, Dacia Jogger, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BMW X1. In the first phase of the competition, 33 vehicles were determined and then 7 vehicles made it to the final.
The scores of all vehicles that made it to the final are as follows;
- Nissan X-Trail: 3580 points
- Peugeot408: 3550 points
- Toyota Corolla Cross: 2270 points
- Vauxhall Astra: 2140 points
- Hyundai Ionic 5: 1550 points
- Dacia Jogger: 1490 points
- BMW X1: 1420 points

The Peugeot 408 has won the Design of the Year award!

In addition to Car of the Year, OGD also presented several awards. One of them was the Design of the Year award. The new Peugeot model, which was introduced last year and received much acclaim with its design, made it to our country this year. 408 was awarded the prize.
BMW’s 7 Series received the Innovation of the Year award

Another award presented today was Innovation of the Year. BMW’s luxury sedan 7 Series, which came behind with a huge screen, managed to take this award.
Press Launch of the Year award goes to Dacia Jogger

The last prize was the Press Launch of the Year. Dacia Jogger, which was launched in Iğdır and Kars, received this award.
