If the cylinder head gasket is broken, exhaust gases enter the cooling system and the rubber begins to inflate. The problem is corrected by buying and installing a new gasket, or even grinding the head if necessary. So it is better to avoid such cases.
And if you have the desire and money, you can purchase a turbine pressure tester for a more accurate diagnosis. With its help, determine the strength of the vacuum. This will tell you about the condition of the piston rings. This method is much more effective than compression diagnostics as measurements are performed on a running unit.
