The state-owned Avtodor, with the virtual participation of President Vladimir Putin, has opened two new sections of the Moscow-Crimea highway. Reaching the peninsula is now faster, but more expensive.

Two new toll sections have been launched on the M4 Don motorway since 15 June, although they were planned to come into operation five days earlier. Vladimir Putin gave the start of the movement via video conference. After that, Avtodor opened the eastern ring road of Rostov-on-Don, along with the satellite city of Aksai. Instead of driving through Rostov’s traffic jams, motorists traveling on the M4 can now bypass it via a 35-kilometre high-speed detour. The second segment, launched today, will allow you not to get stuck in Krasnodar’s traffic jams. Its length is 51 kilometers.

The fare for each of the new sections of the paid M4 “Don” is set at about 300 rubles. That is, for a trip along the Moscow-Crimea route on a “pay-to-pay” basis, the owner of a passenger car will have to pay a total of 3480 ₽ on a weekday and 4100 ₽ on a weekend or holiday . Until now, these costs have been at the level of 2880 and 3500 rubles, respectively.
