The only bad thing is in the lower price range – apart from “Grants” and “Niva” there is nothing at all. But soon a big battle for the buyer will start here too. The Iranians are not only preparing for major competition with AvtoVAZ, but also expanding the “menu”.
The Russian car market is taking on new features: the premium segment has completely shifted to parallel imports, the mid-price segment has been outsourced to the Celestial Empire, and the budget class has moved to Lada. However, the lack of competition has served no one well, so at the state level, Togliatti’s auto giant found a sparring partner: Iranian cars. It is slowly but surely moving towards the appearance of Persian cars in our area in a wide model line.
Recently in Iran, they announced the Pars Khodro Sahand sedan, which is an updated version of the SAIPA Saina. The novelty is distinguished by the design of both the exterior and the interior: a new center console, dashboard, climate control unit and multimedia with a “floating” screen in the latest fashion.
A modified 1.5-liter petrol engine with 90 hp is responsible for the intended car performance. Simple, reliable and especially in the lower price range.
At the moment, only painted images and a few photos have been published, but knowing the efficiency of the Iranians, we can safely rely on statements that mass production will begin in mid-autumn.
And taking into account the established trade and diplomatic relations, there is no doubt that Pars Khodro Sahand will soon appear in Russia. In all respects, including the price, it becomes a full-fledged competitor to LADA Granta.
