Tesla Reportedly ‘Blocked’ Vehicle Deliveries in Turkey: Hundreds of Vehicles Stuck at Customs!

The electric car company that officially entered Turkey in April about Tesla A claim that would fall on the agenda like a bomb came on the agenda. According to journalist Emre Özpeynirci, Tesla’s Model Ys were stuck at customs in Turkey. As such, the company cannot make vehicle deliveries.

The events took place when consumers who bought Tesla Model Y shared their problems with Özpeynirci. In fact, Tesla sent a message to its customers. screenshot also available. Let’s take a closer look at the confusing claim.

Problems first arose with customs and then with SCT payments.

“Thousands of Tesla Model Y, brought to Turkey for delivery, were viewed this way recently in Kocaeli…”

Emre Özpeynirci’s Twitter account according to the description Tesla from May more than 1000 vehicle delivered. In recent weeks, however, problems have started to appear. Özpeynirci stated that the company first had problems with customs clearance and that the process was delayed due to “systemic problems”, this time after customs procedures were completed. Stuck in SCT payments say. According to the statement, Tesla has been unable to pay excise duties on the vehicles sold since Monday. Actually yes, but the system won’t accept it.

What happened is not just that. Özpeynirci said that Tesla had come into contact with authorities many times on this subject, but in no way. no solution found tells. As such, approximately 500 Model Ys, for which SCT payment had been made but not accepted, remained with customs. According to Emre Özpeynirci, Tesla wanted to deliver these vehicles before the holidays. But deliveries alas It lasted until July and about 500 Tesla Model Y owners fell victim..

Emre Özpeynirci’s post on Twitter:

Will Tesla deliveries be blocked!?

Why did 500 people become victims before the holidays!?

In the past 3-4 days, many messages and emails have been received from those who have suffered from Tesla’s inability to deliver in Turkey.

After all we are on a 9 day holiday and people have not been able to get their vehicles despite paying for them.

So what’s the problem;

First of all, I heard that Tesla, which has delivered more than 1000 vehicles in Turkey since the beginning of May, has been experiencing serious bureaucratic problems in the past 1-2 weeks and was unable to make deliveries scheduled for the holiday.

In recent weeks there have been ‘systemic’ problems at customs and delayed customs procedures. That’s why it took a long time for the vehicles to get through customs.

On Friday evening this time the problem started with the SCT payments and from Monday the system started not approving the SCT payments.

As you know, a VCA payment inspection is required for the registration of vehicles. Otherwise the vehicles cannot be delivered. For this reason, Tesla had to postpone deliveries to its customers until the problem is resolved.

Despite constant consultations with the authorities, no solution could be reached.

As a result, I learned that there are currently about 1,000 vehicles in customs, of which the duty of 500 has been paid and is normally delivered on the Saturday before the holiday. However, due to bureaucratic obstacles, nearly 500 people fell victim before the party.

As the next 9 days are a public holiday, it looks like the earliest deliveries will be in July.

I have not had this problem with other brands. Hopefully this isn’t just a Tesla-specific block.

So why is this happening?

Emre Özpeynirci shared a message that reached him about the events. See what the person who claims to be dealing with this company says:

90% of the vehicles imported to our country are imported from the Kocaeli region. As you know, all imported vehicles are checked by TSE during customs clearance.

Import after TSE check is possible. Now let me explain why all other brands, including TESLA, lag behind Eid;

All TSE transactions are done through a software called TSE360. This software has been paralyzed for the past 20 days. It didn’t work for a week. Import files could not be closed, ports and warehouses were full. Full ships anchored in the open air.

You really have to see it.

I enter these areas every day and check vehicles with TSE. Because of this, people suffered. At the same time, there is a shortage of personnel in Kocaeli TSE. Imports exploded.

Run numbers from 70-80 files to 200-250 files per day. When this situation was combined with the TSE360 software, chaos ensued.

The head office in Ankara is still unable to send staff. All distributors have stood up for these reasons. I hope it gets resolved.

In other words, as you pointed out in your article, it is not the customs system, but the TSE system related problem. We would appreciate if you could address the ongoing issue regarding the TSE360 system.
