The new Volvo EX30 takes urban safety to a new level.

The new Volvo EX30, the brand’s smallest SUV ever, embodies Volvo’s leadership in safety and innovation for more than 96 years, meeting the challenges of today’s bustling urban environments. Protecting the people inside the car in the event of an accident has always been a priority for us. The design of the EX30 reflects our commitment to strengthening the roll cage, the A-, B- and B-pillars, and the roof.

Since this is an electric car, Volvo naturally pays special attention to the integrity of the battery. The chassis and roll cage are made from various forms of high-strength steel, which effectively absorb the impact of a possible collision.

The EX30 also includes a side airbag inside the driver’s seat designed to reduce head and chest injuries in the event of a side impact. And it goes beyond your basic passive safety standards. The Volvo EX30 also offers an enhanced set of new active safety features that help protect people inside and outside the vehicle.

A car that will support you when you need it

Inside the EX30, a new advanced driver alert system comes as standard to take care of you when you’re not at your best. In addition to practical sensors on the steering wheel, the car also has a special sensor that works with powerful algorithms and is located behind the wheel, which detects eye and facial movements approximately 13 times per second. Thus, the EX30 can try to figure out if you are distracted, drowsy, or inattentive.

Our new auto-brake feature is designed to prevent accidents at urban intersections. In the event that another vehicle unexpectedly crosses your path, the automatic braking function is designed to stop the vehicle and help mitigate or avoid a collision.
