After AVTOVAZ somehow got out of the crisis and restarted production of LADA Vesta NG, AVTOVAZ set to work on new projects: the promising Iskra family, a still nameless crossover and … a minivan. It will, like the SUV, be built on the basis of Vesta.
The talk about a van from LADA started more than five years ago – when it was assumed that Togliatti would take the French Renault Dokker as a base. In 2021, AVTOVAZ representatives said that the fate of the project was a big question and its implementation was extremely unlikely. And the events of February 2022 and the subsequent exodus of the European partner from Russia put an end to this story.
But it seems that the Volga Automobile Plant decided to revive the idea to launch a van, which could replace the outdated LADA Largus. Or not replace it, but simply supplement the model line in order to attract a slightly different audience. The Autopotok Telegram channel reports that the project under the RGH index is already open and the car is in the works.
There is practically no technical information about it: it is only known that the novelty will borrow the base of the body from the updated LADA Vesta. Unfortunately, the timing is also unknown.
