The small crossover Livan X3 Pro promises to become one of the most sought-after conquerors of domestic roads and destinations. The car looks quite modern, although from a technical point of view it is the closest relative of one of the old (2009 edition) Geely models – the GC5 hatchback. The Geely logo is even displayed on the plastic cover of the Livan X3 Pro’s 1.5-liter 103-horsepower engine under the hood. But, by the way, this is so.
Looking at the car from the side, it is impossible to suspect that it is of ancient origin. A fashionably concave black “whalebone” grille, a powerful “lower lip” of the front bumper, vertical stripes of LED running lights in the front, faceted rear optics, a sweeping spoiler on the top edge of the fifth door – the whole set of attributes of the gentleman of a modern car is present in the exterior of the model.
Salon Livan X3 also looks fashionable and modern. This impression is reinforced by yellow-orange inserts in the black echoing plastic of the front panel and doors. If someone is annoyed by such stylistic feats, take note: in Russia, the Livan X3 is sold in a single configuration. So it will not be possible to admire the bright “pop music”.
The dashboard consists of a pair of arrow buttons with a small monochrome trip computer monitor in between. It shows the temperature of the engine, the remaining fuel in the tank and some secondary information like mileage, but nothing more.
An 8-inch touchscreen that towers above the center console is responsible for communicating with the multimedia essence of the machine. This gives you access to the standard set of “fun”: Android Auto/Apple Carplay-Radio-Music-Bluetooth… There’s a rear-view camera.
Not everyone is comfortable behind the wheel. In principle, you can get used to the short “sit”. Even worse, the steering wheel here is controlled only by the angle of inclination and in a frankly symbolic range. The serious volume of the “glove box” pleases without joking. But if someone sits to the driver’s right, the passenger’s knees won’t be able to open his cover properly.
As rear passengers of the Livan X3 crossover, there are many miniature ladies and children. A more or less overall person will have to support the front seats with their knees. Even the “crutch” landing does not save. And what did you expect from a wheelbase of 2480 mm?
The manufacturer claims the usable volume of the trunk of the crossover at the level of 400 liters. It was not possible to verify this statement in practice, but it seems that these liters can be gained there only by dismantling the parcel shelf of the luggage compartment and stuffing it with junk up to the ceiling. And this despite the fact that the X3 is not equipped with a full-fledged spare wheel, but only with a “dokatka”.
On the road, Livan X3 showed no miracles. With its 103 hp aspiration, CVT in the transmission and front-wheel drive, the car hums loudly with the engine and accelerates slowly. The manufacturer modestly does not advertise data on “seconds to 100 km / h” (as well as passport fuel consumption, by the way!). And it feels like the crossover crosses the 100 km / h threshold somewhere in the 12-13th second from the moment of launch. And up to 40-50 km / h it accelerates very cheerfully, but then it becomes hopelessly sour. My guess is that in an effort to get at least some dynamism out of the car, the prospective owners will likely hit the gas pedal and burn unimaginable amounts of AI-92.
The steering wheel is empty. From the word completely, as they say. But if you get used to this “joystick”, then the control of the machine does not raise any questions. You just have to get used to the loud and rather shaky suspension. And decent bodywork in tight corners too. In general, you can drive, but … For example, you will have to drive on the highway in X3, keeping only your progressive inferiority complex together.
Off-road in this “X-third” we do not recommend to interfere. With a seemingly decent 185mm of clearance, the Livan X3 lacks factory crankcase protection. The Chinese have not even put a plastic boot there for the sake of the economy.
But the price is 1.88 million rubles for the only possible, we repeat, equipment! But in car dealerships in Livan, price tags of 1.69 million rubles flaunt next to the car. Granted, they only work if you trade in an old car and take out a loan. But these are trifles. The main thing is relatively cheap.
