Last year, the two-wheeler segment closed, albeit small compared to the car market, but still in the red – sales were down 16%. But then experts said this phenomenon was temporary and motorcycles were likely to grow again in 2023. Well, while their predictions come true: In January-June, demand for new bicycles increased by 60%.

According to the results of a study by the Avtostat agency, which uses data on the registration of electronic titles, Russians bought 15,300 new motorcycles in the first six months of 2023, which is 60.1% more than in the first half of 2022. That that is, dealers have already sold almost the same number as all of last year (15,500 units).

It is noted that most of the revenue came in the second quarter. So, if our fellow citizens bought 2,000 bicycles in January-March, then in April-June – 13,000. However, this is not surprising. Indeed, it was in April that the actual opening of the motorcycle season took place, and enthusiasts of two-wheeled vehicles rushed to “renew”.

If you look at the months, the segment only showed negative momentum in February, when sales fell 5.8%. Growth was recorded the rest of the time, from 3.3% in January to a record 87.4% for the period in June.

By the way, quite recently the AvtoVzglyad portal tested the new urban naked Bajaj Pulsar N250, and frankly it surprised us. And what exactly, you can read here.
