ABOUT bard arrived to compete with the famous ChatGPT in the field of artificial intelligence chats. If we have Google on one side, we have Microsoft on the other, which has invested a whopping $13 billion in OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. In just two months of existence, ChatGPT has attracted more than 100 million users. So it’s no surprise that Google didn’t want to lose that spot. Because that’s how it works in the tech world, you’re either a first mover or you’re taking advantage of the moment to compete in a new segment.

The arrival of Bard not only creates competition for ChatGPT, but also optimizes Google services, as the tool should gradually be included in the company’s ecosystem. The company itself says that Bard is “a standalone experience that complements Google search.” Which should become very popular here in Brazil, as more than 90% of user searches come from this company’s search engine. So, for example, search will be powered by artificial intelligence, using user habits to offer personalized recommendations, always acting as if it were a conversation between a computer and a human.

That is, Bard is going to add another layer of personalization to the Google ecosystem, such as maps, photos, and gmail. You can even export Bard search results to Docs or Gmail without having to copy and paste text. But it looks like the company won’t be limited to this technology, as in the demo, the chatbot used Firefly, Adobe’s AI, to create illustrations for a children’s party.
